Introduction
International business communication has been increasing since China enters WTO and plays a more and more important role in world trade. Business English translation, as a backbone of business communication among different countries gives more weight to vivid and appropriate translation but not simple equivalent translation from word to word. Moreover, cultural conflicts often happen unavoidably here and there in cross-culture business communication. So it’s necessary to study the characteristics and ways of business English translation. The purpose of this paper is to show non-equivalence translation existence viewing from the perspectives of linguistics and cultural differences.
According to what has been mentioned above, translators need to achieve not only the translating skills but also identify the cultural difference of source language and target language. Thus the significance of this paper is to help business English translators aware the strong sense of cross-cultural communication, and to remind them of paying more attention to the utilization of non-equivalence principle when they deal with different styles of business English translation.
With the development of Business English translation, Chinese research has obtained a huge achievement. However the studies of non-equivalence using in translation should be further developed under the background of cross-cultural communication. Information equivalence in translation business English text only points to business information equivalence, however, other elements such as cultural and linguistic information equivalence cannot be regarded. This paper aims to explore characteristics of business English in different styles of business English translation.
This paper includes five parts: part one is introduction; part two is linguistic non-equivalence in business English translation; part three, cultural non-equivalence in business English translation; part four, translation principles of non-equivalence in business English translation; part five is conclusion.
